About DMG Entertainment

Headquartered in Beverly Hills, California, DMG Entertainment is a global media and entertainment company with diverse holdings and operations across motion pictures, television, comic book publishing, gaming, next-gen technology, and location-based entertainment. The studio’s films include the critically acclaimed sci-fi time travel hit LOOPER and the global blockbuster IRON MAN 3. In 2017, DMG and James Cameron brought Terminator 2 back to the big screen with an immersive 3D special edition.

In 2018, DMG Entertainment completed the acquisition of Valiant Comics, bringing its robust library of 2,000 characters, and award-winning line of comics such as X-O Manowar, Bloodshot, Harbinger, Shadowman, Archer & Armstrong, and Ninjak, into the family. The Valiant acquisition has already seen much success, with multiple comic book properties in development, production, and post-production. Sony’s Bloodshot will be released in theaters in 2020. The movie is intended to kickstart a shared cinematic universe and stars Vin Diesel in the title role. Bloodshot is directed by Dave Wilson and written by Eric Heisserer. In addition to Diesel, the cast includes Toby Kebbell, Lamorne Morris, Eiza Gonzalez, Sam Heughan, Talulah Riley, Alex Hernandez, and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson.

Also, in development at Sony are Valiant Comics superhero stories Harbinger and Faith, being adapted by American Gods scribe Maria Melnik. Faith is particularly notable comic book property for its inclusive character Faith Herbert, a jubilant, comics-and-science-fiction loving geek who also happens to have telekinetic superpowers. Toby Jaffe and Neal Moritz will produce via their Original Film banner with Dan Mintz.

In addition to the Valiant universe, DMG Entertainment recently secured the rights to Brandon Sanderson’s acclaimed series of fantasy novels, Cosmere, in a commitment to spend $270 million to finance the first 3 movies made from Sanderson’s canon. The books are a mixture of sci-fi and fantasy, and they unfold in several different worlds and time periods but are unified by an intricate system of magic that drives the plots.

“The people at DMG Entertainment aren’t just producers or financiers. They’re fans,” Sanderson said in a statement. “From the first moment we met, I knew they understood my vision and goals for the Cosmere, and I’ve been excited to work with them in bringing their vision for the universe to the screen.”

In their location-based business, DMG Entertainment has partnered with Hasbro to develop the world’s first Transformers™-themed location-based entertainment project and recently launched DMG VR, a best-in-class immersive entertainment unit dedicated to the fast-growing medium of Virtual Reality. Arcturus is the first incubated company under the DMG VR umbrella. Together with Arcturus, DMG Entertainment launched their first VR experience based on Sanderson’s popular Stormlight Archive series. The Way of Kings: Escape the Shattered Plains marked the first time that the books were ever translated to a visual medium, giving fans the chance to put themselves in the shoes of one of the series’ main heroes.
